This workshop will focus on explaining each piece of the jury process from empaneling to jury instructions, to discharging. The presentation will focus on understanding the goals of a juror and the important features of a trial that interpreters must be knowledgeable of to ensure an effective interpretation.
Educational Objectives:
- Participants will be able to discuss the history of the jury process.
- Participants will be able to demonstrate their understanding of jury instructions through hands on practice.
- Participants will be able to explain peremptory and discretionary strikes.
