In this workshop, we will discuss the importance of interpreters being a part of the IEP team. Interpreters should advocate to participate in IEP meetings and to share input on their D/HH students’ performance, abilities, and more. Interpreters will learn what forms they may fill out to provide feedback and what kind of feedback is appropriate to provide in an IEP meeting.
Educational Objectives:
- Participants will learn and understand why it is vital for interpreters to attend their D/HH students’ IEP meetings as service providers.
- Participants will be able to learn what kind of feedback they should and should not provide to the IEP team.
- Participants will be able to understand the forms they may fill out in order to provide feedback for the IEP team.
