Depending on the area an interpreter lives, one is likely to interpret one subject more than others. This allows the interpreter to develop skills and expertise in the subject matter. As such, interpreters may be called upon to provide workshops and professional development opportunities to other interpreters and students. This workshop provides logistical perspectives and guidelines for developing, preparing, and presenting interpreting workshops.
Educational Objectives:
- Participants will be able to recognize the opportunities already in place to present.
- Participants will be able to differentiate between presenting distance education vs. traditional setting.
- Participants will be able to identify the appropriate presenter behaviors when working with agencies, affiliates or other organizations.
