With the growing number of ITPs across the nation, interpreters are increasingly finding themselves in a mentorship role. Without formal training, how can one effectively fulfill the expectations of that role? This workshop is intended as a basic “how-to guide” that provides new mentors with a strong foundation to get started off on the right track.
Educational Objectives:
- The participant will be able to identify the appropriate types of homework a mentor can assign the mentee when presented with a list.
- The participant will be able to describe the steps in the process when working with a mentee.
- The participant will be able to describe the proper procedure for supervising a mentee while actively interpreting.
