This course will expand your ability to use ASL word order in complex linguistic and terminological settings. The course will focus on those areas of ASL syntax which typically present problems to professional interpreters. The course will teach the application of concepts as well as the theoretical background behind those structures.

Educational Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to identify and use linguistic terminology to describe the work of interpretation.
  2. Participants will be able to describe the differences between English and ASL syntax from presented samples.
