This two-hour introductory course will dive into the world of legal interpreting and assess, at a basic level, terminologies and concepts that often are mentioned in the course of this specialized field.
Educational Objectives:
- Participants will be able to reproduce possibilities of interpretations for a minimum of ten (10) legal terms.
- Participants will be able to interpret a rendition of commonly used procedural litanies including the Miranda Warning, the guilty plea litany, and the witness’ oath.
- Participants will be able to demonstrate through discussion when and how to interrupt legal proceedings for clarification.
