In this multimedia presentation, participants will read information, watch videos, and visit links to information about introductory topics in the study of culture and cultural diversity. Participants will become familiar with vocabulary from disciplines such as anthropology, sociology, and cultural studies along with relevant examples from communities within the United States. Along the way, participants will check their comprehension by answering multiple-choice questions. They will review their overall understanding with a final quiz.
- Participants will be able to define terminology related to the study of culture.
- Participants will be able to match terminology with relevant real-world examples of those terms.
- Participants will be able to identify instances of prejudice, discrimination, and oppression.
- Participants will be able to distinguish between biological and cultural realities.
