In this multimedia presentation, participants will learn how race is culturally constructed. They will explore the ways in which racism has become systemic in the United States and they ways in which that system is upheld. Participants will view videos, look at external links, and answer multiple-choice questions as they move through the presentation. At the end of the presentation, participants will take a review quiz to ensure that they remember what they have learned. Along the way, participants will check their comprehension by answering multiple-choice questions. They will review their overall understanding with a final quiz.
- Participants will be able to distinguish between aspects of the biological reality and of the cultural construction of race.
- Participants will be able to describe the history of how racism came to be in the US.
- Participants will be able to describe how race is systematized in the USA.
