CEUs: 0.2 PS
Presenter: Kristen Guynes
Presented in: Spoken English with Captions
Format: Archived Webinar
As a Related Service Provider, IEP team member, and school employee, an educational interpreter is responsible for certain tasks that may not be expected in typical interpreting situations. Because interpreter training varies greatly, the need for documentation within a school setting may not have been adequately addressed. This webinar will discuss the importance of documentation, what should be documented, strategies for effective documentation, and ways to appropriately share documentation. Several tools for documentation developed by the presenter will be distributed for use.
Educational Objectives:
- Participants will be able to describe the various types of school documentation that affects the educational interpreter role.
- Participants will be able to explain the difference between an IEP and a 504 plan.
- Participants will be able to identify the various laws that impact educational interpreting and the documentation required by these laws.
