E-learning is no longer a “new” approach to instruction and is finding its way into higher education more often than seen before. In this presention, interpreters will have the opportunity for an introductory level of understanding about current methodologies and trends for online pegagogy. Techniques such as assessment and evaluation, course structure and resource sharing will be discussed. As participants complete the presentation, they will gain a greater understanding of significant changes in the field of e-learning. The presentation will provide an overview in which participants will be introduced to strategies for integrating technology into curricula with interpreting students in mind
Educational Objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify and explain current, online pedagogical practices
- Participants will be able to identify two specific strategies that could be directly integrated into online or hybrid course development
- Participants will be able to describe current roadblocks in online course development and identify techniques that an be used to resolve them
