In this workshop, we will discuss the importance of interpreters being a part of the IEP team.  Interpreters should advocate to participate in IEP meetings and to share input on their D/HH students’ performance, abilities, and more.  Interpreters will learn what forms they may fill out to provide feedback and what kind of feedback is appropriate to provide in an IEP meeting.

Educational Objectives:

  1. Participants will learn and understand why it is vital for interpreters to attend their D/HH students’ IEP meetings as service providers.
  2. Participants will be able to learn what kind of feedback they should and should not provide to the IEP team.
  3. Participants will be able to understand the forms they may fill out in order to provide feedback for the IEP team.
