This course will expand your basic knowledge of legal language. The course will consist of two parts. The first hour will be a discussion of how legal language is different in ASL and in English. The second hour will employ some of those concepts in analysis of real legal texts.
Educational Objectives:
- Participants will be able to articulate how ASL and English deal with legal terminology.
- Participants will be able to describe and apply several tools for dealing with these linguistic differences in real-world situations.
