From refugee camps to beyond resettlement, this interview explores psychosocial dynamics of refugees and techniques to assist interpreters in facilitating communication for social service encounters.

Educational Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to describe the process of refugee resettlement and the services available to refugees.
  2. Participants will be able to explain the psychosocial factors impacting communication in social service encounters with refugees.
  3. Participants will be able to describe techniques to handle one’s own emotional stressors when interpreting.
