This workshop is for seasoned interpreters who are ready to take the plunge and start mentoring other interpreters who want to improve their product. It will focus on the business side of mentoring including how to accept payments, keep records, organize your data, and other valuable lessons for someone starting to mentor professionally. Having mentored over 90 mentees over 13 years, the presenter will share the techniques used in her own mentoring process. The webinar will consist of a variety of activities that have been helpful in understanding business basics. Participants will be able to use these techniques to formula a business model to use with both current and future mentees.

Educational Objectives:
  1. Participants will be able to describe the process of establishing a mentoring business.
  2. Participants will be able to develop a plan to set up their own mentoring business.
  3. Participants will be able to identify skills needed to mentor novice interpreters.
