One of the most daunting aspects of being self employed as an interpreter is dealing with the tax implications.  In this workshop, we will explore the most common questions interpreters have regarding taxes and deductions.

Educational Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to identify and describe the difference between sole proprietor and incorporation.
  2. Participants will be able to identify items that are typically deductible for sign language interpreters and those that are not from a list.
  3. Participants will be able to explain the difference between being an employee and being self employed.
  4. Participants will be able to explain the various tax forms that sign language interpreters will receive.
