Free lance, contract, private practice; different titles, same job. All interpreters need to know how to manage the business of interpreting. It is important for interpreters to understand the options available to them and make informed decisions regarding self employment. From marketing and invoicing, to taxes and deductions, this workshop will provide the basics of business for interpreters.

Educational Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to list the documents self employed interpreters need to develop.
  2. Participants will be able to recognize deductible items from a list of 4 items.
  3. Participants will be able to identify the pros and cons of self employment.
  4. Participants will be able to list the ways to organize under the IRS.
