In this workshop, we will explore the correct interpretation of religious terminology in various Christian groups. Instances where one term has unique interpretations in different religious groups will be explored. Moreover, important texts from differing Christian traditions will be considered to see how their different functions in each tradition calls for a different interpretation. Participants will be given opportunities to learn terminology and concepts and then to apply these to real-world examples.
- Participants will be able to describe the difference between Sacramental and Non-Sacramental religions and provide three examples of each.
- Participants will be able to define Mainline religion and Evangelical religion.
- Participants will be able to describe the conceptual meaning of numerous religious terms as they relate to various religions and sign them appropriately.
